Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him –has stated that, “Whoever has taken an oath and in his oath, he had taken an oath in the name of Laat or Uzza, he should read the Kalimah again. And whoever encourages his friend to take part in gambling, (he should give charity in expiation).” (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

 

Hadrat Abul Hayyaaj Asadi – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that Hadrat Sayyiduna Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – once mentioned to him, “Shall I not inform you of such a deed which the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – also advised me to do? You should destroy all idols or statues and level all graves until they are (an arms length).” (Sahih Muslim, Sahih Bukhari)
