Since the Fire of Jahannam and Jahannam itself is the manifestation of the Divine Wrath of Allah, even the door of Jahannam itself would be a sign of extreme punishment which is to befall these people. The people who are meant to enter the Fire of Jahannam would be gathered together and herded together as animals. They will be scolded at and insulted as they are herded together. Their faces will be full of regret and extreme anxiety. They will lower their faces in embarrassment and when they see the actual door of Jahannam which would be huge in size, they will realise that this is their ultimate destination.

The Angels who are ordered to take them into Jahannam will scold them and ask, “Did the Prophets from Allah Almighty not appear to you people and made you aware of the Divine Signs of Allah?”

They will have no choice but to finally admit that indeed the Prophets of Allah had come to them, but they had refused to listen to the words of the Prophets. However, today, they will face the result of their refusal to accept the advice of the Prophets. They will then be thrown into the Fire of Jahannam in a disgraceful manner.

The will then be told to face the punishment which they had refused to believe in. Each one of them will face that punishment which he had never ever thought about. This is clearly seen in Surah Zumar, verses 71 and 72:

“And the disbelievers will be herded towards Jahannam in groups; to the extent that when they reach it, its gates will be opened, and its guards will say to them, “Did not the Noble Messengers come to you from amongst you, who used to recite to you the verses of your Lord and warn you of confronting this Day?” They will say, “Yes indeed, why not?” But the Word of punishment proved true upon the disbelievers. It will be said, “Enter the gates of Jahannam to remain in it forever”; so what a wretched destination for the haughty!”

As for those who are to enter Jannah, they will be taken by the Angels with immense respect and dignity towards Jannah. All of them will be gathered in large groups and will be called with respect. When all of them are in front of the doors of Jannah, suddenly all the doors will be thrown open and large groups of Angels will appear to greet these people and welcome them. These blessed people will enter the gardens of Jannah in extreme bliss and happiness. They will also praise Allah Almighty and declare that this is what He had promised them. They will also be told that they are free to roam anywhere in Jannah.

This scene is also described in Surah Zumar:

“And the mounts of those who feared their Lord will be led towards Paradise, in groups; to the extent that when they reach it, its gates will be opened and its guards will say to them, “Peace be upon you! You have done well! Therefore enter Paradise, to abide in it forever.” And they will say, “All Praise is to Allah, Who has made His promise to us come true, and has bequeathed us this land, to stay in Paradise wherever we wish!” So what an excellent reward for the performers!”
