Download PDF: [S] The Intercession of an Aalim

Hadrat Sayyiduna Ka’ab Ahbaar – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that the Almighty will seek accountability from a person when his bad deeds are more than his good deeds. This person will also be told to enter Hell. When the Angels take this person towards the Fire of Hell, the Almighty will inform Jibra’eel Ameen, “Go to this servant of Mine and ask him whether he had sat in the gathering of any Islamic scholar so that I can accept the intercession of that Aalim on behalf of this person.”

When Jibra’eel enquires from this person, he will say that no, he had not done so.

Jibraeel Ameen will then inform the Allah Almighty. “O Allah! You are certainly aware of the state of Your servants and He has also mentioned that he had not done so.”

Allah Almighty will then ask, “Did he used to befriend an Aalim?”

Again the person will reply that no, he did not.

Allah Almighty will then ask, “Did he sit and eat with any Aalim?”

Again the person will reply that no, he had not.

Allah Almighty will then ask, “Ask him whether he lived on the same street on which an Aalim also lived”.

The person will reply that no he had not lived on such a road.

Allah Almighty will again inform Jibra’eel to ask him whether one of his names matches that of any Aalim or whether his family lineage is also the same as any Aalim.

The person will reply that no, it is not.

Allah Almighty will then ask, “Ask him whether he used to befriend anyone who used to befriend an Aalim?”

The person will reply that yes, he used to respect and befriend a person who used to respect and befriend an Aalim.

Allah Almighty will then command Jibra’eel Ameen to take the hand of this person and lead him to Jannah and this is the reason that he has been pardoned by the Allah Almighty. (Al Qalyubi)
