Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Sulayman Rumi – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that he heard the following incident from Khalil Siyaad – may Allah be pleased with him – who narrates:

“One day, my son got lost in the fields. In spite of the fact that we continued to look for him, we could not find him. Obviously, his mother was also distraught. I then approached the great Saint, Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him – and informed him about what had happened. He then asked me what I wanted and I requested him to make a special Du’a for me with Allah Almighty so that I could get my son back.

After listening to my request, he raised his hands and pleaded to Allah Almighty in the following words, ‘O Allah Almighty! Without doubt the entire heavens belongs to You. The entire earth belongs to You and whatever is in between, also belongs to You. You are the Creator and Owner of everything, please allow this person’s son to return to him.’

When this person left the blessed court of this Saint and arrived at the gate of the city, he was surprised to see his son standing at the main door breathless. He then hugged his son and took him home. All of this was through the Du’a of the great Saint.” (Uyunul Hikaayah)
