Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Ziyaat narrates that once a person came to visit the great Saint, Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him. He said, “Hadrat! A child has been born in my house today and you are the first person I have approached to convey this happy news. My intention was to also achieve your Du’as and the Barakah.”

The great Saint replied, “May Allah Almighty keep you in His Divine Mercy and Safety. Please sit on one side and recite ‘Ma sha Allahu kaana.’ What Allah Wills, that will happen.”

When this person had completed reading this a hundred times, Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him – against asked him to read this another hundred times. This continued until the person had read this Wazeefah five hundred times.

After he had completed this, a person arrived in the blessed court of the great Saint. He was actually the servant of the mother of the Chief Minister. He then said to Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him, “Hadrat! Umme Jafer has conveyed her Salaam to you and has instructed me to hand over this pouch of five hundred Dirhams to you so that you may distribute this among the poor and needy.”

When Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him – heard this, he instructed this person to hand it over the person who had just completed reading this Wazeefah five hundred times.

The servant wanted to know whether the entire amount should be given to which Hadrat Sayyiduna Ma’ruf Kharkhi – may Allah be pleased with him – nodded his head. The great Saint then said to this person, “Please accept this five hundred Dinaars and congratulations to you. If you had read this even more, then even more money would have been arranged for you. Please take this and spend it on your family.” (Uyunul Hikaayah)
