Once a girl appeared in front of Sayyidah Ayesha May Allah be pleased with her wearing tinker bells. When Sayyidah Ayesha May Allah be pleased with her heard the sound of these tinker bells, she said, “Do not allow her to approach me until these tinker bells are cut out because I heard Sayyiduna Rasoolullah May Allah send peace and blessings upon himdeclare that, ‘That house in which there is a bell or tinker bells, the Angels do not enter that house.’” (Abu Daud Shareef, 518)

 

Lesson

 

There is no doubt that the Angels that appear in the houses of Muslims bring the Divine Mercy of the Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty explains about Angels in the following manner:

 

In Surah At Tahreem, verse 6 the Qur’an declares:

یٰۤاَیُّہَا الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا قُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَکُمْ وَ اَہۡلِیۡکُمْ نَارًا وَّ قُوۡدُہَا النَّاسُ وَ الْحِجَارَۃُ عَلَیۡہَا مَلٰٓئِکَۃٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا یَعْصُوۡنَ اللہَ مَاۤ اَمَرَہُمْ وَ یَفْعَلُوۡنَ مَا یُؤْمَرُوۡنَ ﴿۶﴾

‘O believers!, ‘save yourselves and your family members from the Fire whose fuel is men and stones, over which are appointed angels, stern and severe, who disobey not the Commands of Allah and do what they are commanded.

 

When these Angels do not enter a certain house, it means that they have been clearly forbidden from entering that house through the Divine Command of Allah Almighty. At the same time, we can also logically say that when the Angels are prohibited from entering any houses, it means that the Divine Wrath of Allah Almighty is certainly on that house. Therefore, anything on which is a cause and means of the Divine Wrath of Allah Almighty is prohibited in Islam.

 

The greatest objective of any Muslim is to attain the Divine Pleasure of Allah Almighty. We should endeavour to make sure that we refrain from all of those things which earn His Divine Wrath. When we look at the lives of the pious Muslims of the past, their entire lives were built on this foundation. There are many things which have been explained in Shari’ah which as Muslims we have been restricted to keep in our houses, we should educate ourselves about these things and make sure that the Divine Mercy of Allah Almighty does not leave our houses and environment.

 

We should also make sure that we do not practise upon this only on certain occasions, but make sure that we adhere to these rules and regulations all the time.
