Hadrat Sayyiduna Yusuf bin Husain – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that he heard Hadrat Sayyiduna Zun Nun Misri – may Allah be pleased with him – relate:

 

I was once in the mountains in Syria and I saw a few people who were wearing woollen clothing. In one hand, they had a water container and in one hand they had a walking stick. When they saw me, they began to say to themselves, ‘Come, let us approach Abu Faiz, Zun Nun Misri.’

 

They then approached me and made Salaam. I returned their salaam. I then asked them where they had come from and they replied, ‘We have come from the garden of Divine Love and Ecstasy.’

 

I asked them with whose help they had come and they replied, ‘We have arrived with the Divine Help of that Being Who bestows upon everyone in abundance.’

 

I then asked them what is it that they do in that place, they replied, ‘We drink from the cup of Divine Love.”
