Hadrat Sayyiduna Sulayman bin Teemi’s – may Allah be pleased with him – title was “Abul Mu’eer.” He was born in Basrah. He was considered as among the eminent of the Taaba’een and among the well-known Muhadditheen.

 

Among the, Ashaab, he was student of Hadrat Sayyiduna Aanis – may Allah be pleased with him –and among the Taaba’een, he was a student of Imam ‘Amash – may Allah be pleased with him, Imam Hasan Basri – may Allah be pleased with him – and Imam Abu Ishaq Sab’i – may Allah be pleased with him.

 

In the faculty of Ahadith, he was also the among the teachers of such great scholars as Imam Shu’bah, Imam Sufyan Thouri, Imam Sufyan bin Ayniyah, Imam Abdullah ibn Mubaarak, Imam Hammad bin Salamah – may Allah be pleased with them. Imam ibn Mo’een, Imam Nisaa’i and Imam Ajali – – may Allah be pleased with them – have also borne testimony to his immense knowledge and authenticity. (At Tahzeeb)

 

One of his amazing miracles is that after the Esha Salaah until the Fajr Salaah, he used to perform countless Nawaafil. He passed away in 143 A.H. at the age of 92. (At Tahzeeb)
