Download PDF: [S] The Thief never go Empty-handed
It is mentioned that one night a thief entered Hadrat Sayyiduna Ahmed Hadrawiyah’s – may Allah be pleased with him – house. But, what can be found in the house of a true Wali which is of wordily value? At the same time, we also see that when someone enters our house, we make sure that we teach the person a terrible lesson. There is no way that we will be able to forgive the person. We are only satisfied when we see the person laying on the ground in a pool of blood.
However, the Awliyah who have complete trust in Allah Almighty are completely different and this is the reason that when people meet these blessed souls they become instant admirers of the Alwiyah.
When the thief could not find anything and decided to leave empty-handed Hadrat Sayyiduna Ahmed Hadrawiyah – may Allah be pleased with him – said to him, “Do not go empty-handed. It is not the behaviour of a Dervish to allow a person to leave his presence empty-handed. I would request you to spend the night with me in Ibadah and whatever I acquire for this I will give this to you.”
The thief then spent the entire night with Hadrat Sayyiduna Ahmed Hadrawiyah – may Allah be pleased with him – and in the morning a person appeared at the door of the great Saint and handed him a hundred Dinaars. He then handed this to the thief and informed him that this was merely the payment of one nights Ibadah. Obviously, by now the thief had completely changed. He was also in deep regret that he had ignored the Creator for so long. He then made sincere Du’a and joined the company of Hadrat Sayyiduna Ahmed Hadrawiyah – may Allah be pleased with him – and achieved a very lofty status. (Tadkirah Al Awliyah)
