Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that during the Battle of Badr, a certain Muslim was chasing a Mushrik on the battlefield. The Mushrik was running in front of him. Suddenly, above the head of the Muslim, he heard the sound of a horse being hastened. He also heard the voice of the rider on the horse who was urging his horse forward. When the Muslim looked at the Mushirk in front of him, he noticed that he was laying on the ground. On the nose of this person, there was a mark of a whip and because of this immense power of the whip his face had split open. The face of this person also turned green.

 

The Muslim then went to the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – and mentioned what had happened. The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – mentioned that he had spoken the truth and this was help which came from the third heaven. (Sahih Muslim)
