Sayyidah Ayesha – may Allah be pleased with her – narrates that when the blessed companion Hadrat Sayyiduna Sa’ad bin Mu’az – may Allah be pleased with him – passed away, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – and the other blessed companions wept a lot.

She mentions that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him –used to become very sad, he used to hold his blessed beard. She mentions that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – returned from the Janazah of this blessed companion, his blessed beard was wet with tears. (Tabarani, Ibn Jareer; Hayaat As Sahaabah)

Hadrat Sayyiduna Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that one day he left the house and it was extremely cold.

He continues, “I was extremely hungry and the cold had made my feet numbed. I had piece of leather with me and cut it into two halves. With one piece I covered my chest and with the other, I covered my neck. I swear by Allah that there was nothing in my house which I could eat.  In fact, if there was anything in the blessed house of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – I would have surely being given something. (This proves that there was nothing even in the blessed house).

“I then went outside of Madina Shareef and looked into the garden of a Jew. He asked me whether I needed some work and asked me to bring a bucket of water and for each bucket I was to get a single date. I noticed that my palms were full of dates and mentioned that this was sufficient. I ate these dates and drank some water and went to visit the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. He was also sitting among the other blessed companions.

“At that moment, Hadrat Sayyiduna Mus’ab bin Umair – may Allah be pleased with him – also arrived. He was covered in a shawl which were full of patches. When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – saw him and remembered his previous days when he had immense wealth prior to Islam, the eyes of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – filled with tears. In fact, he wept a lot. He then said to everyone, ‘What will be your condition when you will have a new set of clothing in the morning and a new set in the afternoon and you will place such clothing in your houses like the Ka’ba is now draped?’

“The blessed companions replied, ‘On that day, we will be full of ease. We will be spared difficulty and will have time to make Ibadah.’ The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – replied, “No, no, today is better than those days to come.” (Tirmidhi Shareef, Hayaat As Sahaabah)

Hadrat Ibn Shihaab – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that once Hadrat Sayyiduna ‘Uthman bin Maz’un – may Allah be pleased with him – entered the Masjid. He had a very old cloth covering him which was full of patches. In fact, he had used some parts of the sleeve to patch these areas. When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – saw him, he felt extreme pity. In fact, even the other blessed companions were also affected.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that when this same blessed companion was about to pass away, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – went to visit him. When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – sat in front of this blessed companion, he bent so low that his face was full of tears. The second time, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – bent so low as if he was saying something to this blessed companion. The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – then raised his head and again people saw tears on his face.

The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – again turned to this blessed companion and people heard him weeping and people realised that this blessed companion had passed away. Everyone wanted to cry out aloud but the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – stopped them. The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – mentioned that this was the signs of Satan (to cry and weep aloud).

From this, we also come to know that the Shia are certainly the genuine followers and patrons of the Satan. They are the ones who continue to weep and wail in spite of the fact their elders are the killers of the Ahle Bayt. It is also proves to us that when you wish a lie to start sounding like the truth, you need to continue speaking the lie so that eventually some people would think you are speaking the truth. This is the reason that they have been wailing from the time of Karbala with the hope that eventually people would start thinking that they are speaking the truth and their elders did not actually murder the Ahle Bayt. But by virtue of the fact that they are the minority in most countries as the followers of Yazeed were in his time again proves another clear similarity between them and the followers of Yazeed. (Abu Naeem,Tabarani, Hayaat As Sahaabah)
