Download PDF: [S] Their Four Wishes in front of the Ka’aba

It is mentioned that during the Khilaafat of Hadrat Mu’awiyah – may Allah be pleased with him – four famous people were sitting around the Ka’ba in the Haram Shareef. They were two brothers, Mas’ab bin Zubair, Urwah bin Zubair, Abdul Malik bin Marwan and Abdullah bin Zubair. They mentioned that they should each present their own personal wish.

 

Abdullah bin Zubair started and he sated, “It is my wish that I get control over the Haram Shareef and achieve Khilaafah.”

 

Mas’ab bin Zubair said, “It is my wish that I am able to capture the two Iraqs and am also married to the two pure maidens from the Quraish, namely Sakeenah binte Husain and Ayesha binte Talha. (The two Iraqs could signify Basrah and Kufah).”

 

Abdul Malik bin Marwan mentioned that, “It is my wish that I become the successor to Hadrat Mu’awiyah – may Allah be pleased with him – and able to control the whole world.”

 

When everyone had mentioned their personal wishes and ambitions, Hadrat Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair – may Allah be pleased with him – mentioned, “Your wishes are your personal wishes. My only wish is that I divorce this world and receive a message of Jannah and through me, the Barakah of the Ahadith continues.”

 

There is no doubt that the immense benefit which was achieved through Hadrat Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair – may Allah be pleased with him – in the field of Ahadith is apparent to the entire Muslim world. In fact, this was certainly his certificate to Jannah and whenever people used to approach Abdul Malik bin Marwan, he used to say to them that if they wished to see a true Jannati, they should look at Hadrat Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair – may Allah be pleased with him.
