Download PDF: [S] The happiness of the Holy Prophet
Hadrat Sayyiduna Aamir bin Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that his father once narrated to him that, “I once saw the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – so delighted in the Battle of the Trench that his beard became clearly visible.” (This could mean that the area under the blessed chin could also be seen).
When he was asked the reason for this, Hadrat Sayyiduna Aamir bin Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – replied that, “Hadrat Sayyiduna Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – was faced by a person who had a shield and he was a very good marksman. As he released his arrows at this person, he began to move to all sides and protected himself from any arrow hitting his forehead. Suddenly, Hadrat Sayyiduna Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – waited for him and the moment he peered over the shield, he released his arrow and the arrow did not miss. This person then fell to the ground and his legs also lifted up. When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – saw this, he smiled so broadly that his beard was completely seen. When Hadrat Sayyiduna Aamir bin Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – was asked the reason why the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – smiled so much on that occasion, he replied that it was due to what Hadrat Sayyiduna Sa’ad – may Allah be pleased with him – had done to the opponent.
