Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Shibli – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates:

One day, I noticed a Majzub that was being stoned by children. His face was also bloody and he had suffered immense injury.

I then scolded the young people.

However they replied, “Do not scold us, we are going to murder him because he is a disbeliever. He claims that he has seen the Creator and also speaks to Him”.

I he advised the children to leave the person alone and approached the person. I told the stranger that the children were speaking badly about him.

The stranger then asked what they had been speaking about him.

I replied, “They were saying that you have claimed to have seen Allah Almighty and that you also speak to Him.”

When he heard these words, he screamed out aloud and said, “O Shibli! The love and reverence for Allah Almighty gives me immense peace and if for one moment, He is hidden from me I will be destroyed into little pieces.”

I then realised that this person was a Majzub and certainly among the special servants of Allah Almighty.

I then asked the Majzub, “O my friend! What is the essence of true love?”

The Majzub replied, “O Shibli! If one droplet of true love is placed in the ocean it will dry up instantly. If it is placed on a mountain, it will crumble into dust and scatter everywhere. Therefore, how can that heart remain calm when it has been adorned with the clothing of true love? In this regard, immense thirst and hunger has been created in that heart.”

There is no doubt that true love for the Allah Almighty and His beloved Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – is something which is sown in the hearts of people. It is watered with Taubah and from it appears the offshoot of love. In each stem, there are a hundred offshoots. If only one single seed is placed in the heart of someone, it would experience immense thirst in the love for Allah Almighty.

There is no doubt that Allah Almighty has also created such creation in whose heart there is found nothing but love for the Allah Almighty. These are those blessed people who have divorced themselves from everything. Events of the past and present have become their book of rules and they live by these rules. (Ar Roud Al Faa’iq)

If you wish to experience this, then look at the following incident.

There is no doubt that the love of a mother is something which can never be explained or understood. This is the reason that it is said that a person has such a face which can only be loved by a mother. In other words, even if a person is ugly, the only human who would smile when he is seen is his mother. For her, he is the most handsome person on earth. If this is the case of a mother, look at the following incident and you will come to know about Allah Almighty.

Hadrat Sayyiduna ‘Umar – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that in one expedition, a few prisoners were captured by the Muslims and brought in front of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. Among the prisoners, there was also a female who had the habit of breast-feeding any child which came in front of her. In fact, when she held any child, she held the child close to her chest and then used to feed the child.

When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – saw the concern of this mother for her children, he asked the blessed companions, “What is your opinion? Do you think that this mother would allow herself to throw her children into the fire?”

The blessed companions replied that never, this mother would never allow her children to be thrown into the fire.

The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – then declared, “There is no doubt that Allah Almighty is even more Merciful on His slaves than this mother who is displaying such kindness to her child.” (Buhkari Shareef; Muslim Shareef)
