It is reported that once Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais bin Kharashah – May Allah be pleased with him – approached the Holy Prophet – May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – as an emissary and declared, “O Prophet of Allah Almighty! I take bay’at with you that I believe in whatever has been sent to you by Allah Almighty and that I also continue to speak the truth.” When the Holy Prophet – May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – heard these words, he replied, “Very soon, such a time will come to you and you will be tested with such an oppressive ruler that you would not have the power to speak the truth.”

When Hadrat Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – heard this, he replied, “I swear by Allah Almighty that whatever oath I have taken, I will certainly abide and fulfil that.”

The Holy Prophet – May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – also informed him, “At that time, no one will be able to harm you.”

Years later, Hadrat Qais – May Allah have mercy upon him – continued to condemn Ziyad and his son Ubaidullah because they continued to go against the laws of Shari’ah. These people also continued to oppress others as well. (This is the same Ubaidullah ibn Ziyad who also had the intention of murdering Imam Husain – May Allah be pleased with him).

Ibn Ziyad then sent some of his soldiers to capture Hadrat Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – and bring him to his court. When Hadrat Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – was brought to his court ibn Ziyad asked him, “Are you the same person who accuses the Almighty Allah and His Prophet with falsehood?” Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – replied, “Certainly not. But if you wish, I can reveal to you the name of the person who does so.”

He then bravely said, “The person who continues to disobey Allah Almighty and His Prophet – May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – is no one else but you and your father and that person who has nominated the both of you and that is Yazeed.”

Ibn Ziyad then asked him, “Are you under the impression that nobody can harm you?”

Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – replied that he was certain about this. Ibn Ziyad then mentioned that today, he will find out himself that he is under a false impression. Ibn Ziyad then called his guards and again Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – mentioned that they would not be able to harm him in the least bit. After saying, Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – them knelt forward and when the guards approached him, they were amazed to see that he had already passed away.

The words of the Holy Prophet – May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – proved correct that no one would be able to harm his blessed companion. (Al Qalyubi)

*One day, the same Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – was travelling with another eminent companion, Hadrat Sayyiduna Ka’ab Ahbaar – May Allah be pleased with him – until they reached a place where the Battle of Siffin would take place many years later. Hadrat Sayyiduna Ka’ab Ahbaar – May Allah be pleased with him – stood awhile at this spot and then declared after reciting the Kalimah, “Without doubt, the piece of this earth is such; that the blood of Muslims will be spilled so much at this spot like no other spot on earth.”

When he heard this statement, Hadrat Sayyiduna Qais – May Allah be pleased with him – was extremely surprised and asked, “O Abu Ishaaq! Who informed you about this? This is part of the knowledge of the Unseen which is known only to Allah Almighty?”

However, Hadrat Sayyiduna Ka’ab – May Allah be pleased with him – replied, “The Taurah which was revealed to Nabi Moosa peace be upon him, in it, there is not a piece of earth which is not mentioned and also what will occur on that piece of earth until the Day of Judgement.” (Al Qalyubi)

Note: This is the obviously the original Taurah and not the present edition which has been tampered and changed centuries ago.
