Imam Hakeem Tirmidhi mentioned the narration of Sayyiduna Ali Ibn Abi Talib – may Allah be pleased with him – in Nawadir al-Usool, he narrates from the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:
Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him – came to him. While he was in his company, Sayyiduna Abu Dhar – may Allah be pleased with him – arrived. Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him – looked at him and said, “He is Abu Dhar.”
He then asked, “O Ameen of Allah (Jibreel Ameen), do you recognize Abu Dhar?”
“Yes,” he replied “By the One who sent you with the truth, indeed Abu Dhar is more famous among the people of the heaven (angelic domain) than he is among the people of the earth, and it is all due to the Du’a which he makes twice a day. The angels marvel at it. Please call him and ask him about his Du’a.”
So the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – said: Do you supplicate twice everyday, O Abu Dhar?”
“Yes,” he replied “may my parents be sacrificed for your sake, I never heard it from a man. They are ten particles which my Lord has inspired me with, and I supplicate by its virtue twice a day facing the Qiblah then I chant the glory of Allah, Kalimah La Ilaaha illAllah Muhammadur Rasoolullah, Hamd and Takbeer for a while, and then I make Du’a with the ten particles (as follows):
- O Allah, I beg You for everlasting faith
- A devout heart
- Beneficial knowledge
- True belief
- The right religion
- I beg of You safety from all mishaps
- I beg You for all types of relief
- The everlasting protection
- Gratitude for that protection
- I seek from You freedom from dependence on others.”
Transliteration:
- Allahumma inni as’aluka imanan da’ima(n)
- Wa as’aluka qalban khashi’a(n)
- Wa as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’a(n)
- Wa as’aluka yaqinan sadiqa(n)
- Wa as’aluka dinan qayyima(n)
- Wa as’alukal-‘afiyata min kulli baliyya(tin)
- Wa as’aluka tamamal-‘afiya(ti)
- Wa as’aluka dawamal-‘afiya(ti)
- Wa as’alukash-shukra ‘alal-‘afiya(ti)
- Wa as’alukal-ghina ‘ala al-nas(i)
Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him – said: O Muhammad (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him), by the One who sent you as a true Prophet, whoever makes this Dua twice a day, all of his sins will be forgiven even though they may exceed the amount of bubbles surfacing from the ocean and the granules of sand on the earth۔
Whoever amongst your Ummah preserves this Du’a in his heart, the Paradise yearns for him and the angels seek forgiveness for him,
The doors of Paradise will be opened for him and the angels will announce: Ya WaliAllah! (O Allah’s friend) Enter Paradise through whichever door you wish.
