Undoubtedly, the Day of Decision has an appointed time.
The day when the trumpet shall be blown, and you will come in hosts.
And the sky shall be opened up and it will become as doors.
And the mountains shall be made to move and shall become as they were a mirage.
Tafsir al-Kabeer
The day when the trumpet shall be blown, and you will come in hosts…
Sayyiduna Mu’adh – may Allah be pleased with him – reported that he asked the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – regarding this.
He replied: O Mu’adh, you have asked about one of the great things. He then lowered his gaze and said:
My Ummah will be judged in ten groups:
- They will be in the shape of monkeys
- In pigs’ shape
- Their feet will be up and heads will be down and they will walk upside down
- Blind
- Deaf and dumb
- They will swallow their tongues. Puss will be coming out of their mouths, the odour of it will be hard for people to bear.
- Their hands and feet will be cut off
- They will be hanged over fire
- Some will be stinking worse than rotting corpses
- Some will be wearing the garment of black mole which will be hugging their bodies.
Those in the shape of monkeys will be the backbiters.
Those in the shape of pigs will be those who ate Haraam.
Those who will be turned over their faces will be those that ate interest.
The Blind are those who practiced oppression in justice.
Those who will be boastful of their actions will be deaf and dumb.
Those who will swallow their tongues will be the ulama and lecturers (storytellers) whose words and actions contradict each other.
Those whose hands and feet will be cut off will be the ones who caused their neighbours misery.
Those who will be hanged on fire will be those who get people unjustly captured by Sultan.
Those who will stink worse than dead bodies will be the ones who followed the evil desires and lust and withheld the right of Allah from their wealth.
Those who will wear the garment of black mole will be the arrogant and boastful.

Tafsir al-Jalalain
Verily the Day of Decision, for creatures, is the tryst, a time [fixed] for reward and punishment.
The day the Trumpet, the Horn, is blown ‘the Day of Decision’, the blower being Sayyiduna Israfeel – peace be upon him, and you come forth from your graves to the site [of the Resurrection], in droves, in diverse groups,
And the heaven is opened, sundered for the descent of the angels, and becomes as gates, it becomes [a heaven] with gates.
And the mountains are set in motion, dislocated from their positions, and become as a mirage, as fine dust, that is to say, like it in terms of its levity when in motion.
