Sabse Aula Wo A’ala Hamara Nabi
Sabse Baala Wo Waala Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the most sublime and the highest;
Our Prophet ﷺ is the most elegant and the greatest,

Our beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – enjoys the highest station amongst the entire creation of Allah.

Allah Almighty always praised him higher than any Prophet in the Holy Quran.

We would present excerpts from AlaHazrat Imam Ahmed Raza’s – may Allah be pleased with him – book Tajalli al-Yaqeen bi anna Nabiyyana Sayyid al-Mursaleen as a commentary for this verse.

Hazrat Ibrahim – peace be upon him – asked Allah in his Du’a:

And disgrace me not on the day when all shall be raised.

(Al-Shu’ara 26, Verse 87)

While the Almighty by Himself granted him this status:

The day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believe with him.

(Al-Tahreem 66, Verse 8)

Not only him, but his companions also were included in this glad tiding.

Allah Almighty also stated:

Your Lord will send five thousand angels with marks for your help.

(Aale Imran 3, Verse 125)

Then We will turn you towards that Qiblah which pleases you.

(Al-Baqarah 2, Verse 144)

And undoubtedly, soon your Lord shall give you so much that you shall be satisfied.

(Al-Dhuha 93, Verse 5)

When He communicated with Kaleemullah Moosa – peace be upon him – on Tur He mentioned it in detail:

And l have chosen you, now listen carefully to what is revealed to you.

Verily I am Allah there is none to be worshipped save me. So worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.

(Taha 20, Verse 13, 14)

But this is how Gracefully He describes His conversation with His beloved:

Now He revealed to His bondman whatever He revealed.

(Al-Najm 53, Verse 10)

Hazrat Dawood – peace be upon him – was instructed as follows:

And follow not desire, otherwise it would cause you to go astray from the path of Allah.

(Saad 38, Verse 26)

But He graces His beloved as follows:

And he speaks not of his own desire.

That is not but the revelation that is revealed to him.

(Al-Najm 53, Verse 3-4)

Hazrat Ibrahim – peace be upon him – made Du’a to maintain his good reputation among the later generations:

And give me a true reputation among the later generations.

(Al-Shu’ara 26, Verse 84)

But Allah Almighty Himself elevated the remembrance of His beloved:

And We have exalted for you your remembrance.

(Inshiraah 94, Verse 4)

And furthermore, gave him the glad tiding:

It is near that your Lord may make you stand at a place where all should praise you.

(Bani Israel 17, Verse 79)

Allah Almighty mentioned the story of Harzat Ibrahim – peace be upon him – in the Quran and how he tirelessly tried to life up the punishment from the people of Hazrat Loot – peace be upon him:

he began to dispute with Us about the people of Lut.

(Hood 11, Verse 74)

But he was stopped:

‘O Ibrahim! Do not plunge in this thought.

(Hood 11, Verse 76)

Hazrat Ibrahim – peace be upon him – said:

He said, ‘in it indeed is Lut’.

(Al-Ankaboot 29, Verse 32)

The reply came:

We know well who is in it.

(ibid)

But on the other hand, Allah Almighty stated the following about the nation of His Beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:

And Allah is not one to chastise them, till (‘O beloved Prophet) you are in their midst.

(Al-Anfaal 8, Verse 33)

Apne Maula Ka Pyara Hamara Nabi
Dono A’alam Ka Dulha Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the most beloved messenger of His Creator;
Our Prophet ﷺ is the bridegroom of this world and the hereafter

The beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

I am the most honoured by Allah amongst my predecessors and successors, and I have no pride.

Hazrat Anas – may Allah be pleased with him – reported that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

When I will approach the gate of paradise on the Day of Judgment and knock, the gatekeeper will ask, “Who are you?”  I will reply, “I am Muhammed (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him).”  He will then say, “I have been instructed to not to open the gate for anyone else before you.”

(Mishkaat al-Masabeeh)

Imam Bukhari in his Tareekh and Tabrani in Awsat, and Baihaqi and Abu Nu’aim narrated from Sayyiduna Jaabir – may Allah be pleased with them – that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

I am the leader of all Prophets and I have no pride.  I am the Final Prophet and I have no pride.

Imam Tirmidhi records the Hadeeth of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas – may Allah be pleased with him – that the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him has stated:

I am the best of them in personality and my family is the most honourable of all.

Imam Hakim and Baihaqi narrated the Hadeeth of Sayyidah Aisha Siddeeqah – may Allah be pleased with them – that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

I am the leader of the entire creation.

Imam Tirmidhi, Baihaqi and Ibn Asakir narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with them – that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

Allah Almighty has made Sayyiduna Moosa – peace be upon him – His Naji and Ibrahim – peace be upon him – His Khaleel, and made me His Habeeb and said to me:

By My Dominance and Jalaal, I shall definitely honour my Habeeb over my Khaleel and Naji.

Bazme Aakhir Ka Shamae Faraouza Hua
Noor-E-Awwal Ka Jalwah Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the first manifestation of Allah’s light,
Though He shone in this world as the last Prophet for human sight,

Two articles of faith have been clarified in this verse:

  1. The finality of Prophethood
  2. He is the manifestation of Allah’s light

Prophethood:

Allah Almighty states in the Holy Quran as follows:

Mohammed is not the father of any of your men; yes He is the Messenger of Allah and the last one among all the prophets. And Allah knows all things.

(Al-Ahzaab 33, Verse 40)

And it has been mentioned in the Hadeeth that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

I have been written by Allah Almighty “Seal of Prophethood”.

(Muslim)

This is the same meaning derived from the Tafseer, dictionaries, and Ahadeeth, and this is what the entire Ummah believes in.  It is proven from various Ahadeeth that he is the final Prophet of Allah Almighty – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.

It is narrated by Sayyinduna Thaubaan – may Allah be pleased with him – that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated, “I am the final Prophet, there is no Prophet after me.”

(Tirmidhi, Mishkaat)

There are also several Ahadeeth about him being the first manifestation of the Noor of Allah Almighty which I have covered in my book “Huwal Awwal” already.

Jin ko Shaayan hai Arshe Khuda par juloos

Hai woh Sultaane waala hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ holds the most distinguished status as a king alone;
It is worthy of Him to sit on Allah’s throne.

The ‘Arsh of Allah Almighty is at peace due to the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him, as the following Hadeeth proves it:

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas – may Allah be pleased with them – narrated that Allah Almighty instructed Hazrat ‘Isa – peace be upon him – as follows:

O ‘Isa, have faith in Muhammad and command your nation that whoever amongst them finds his era, must have faith in him, for if it were not for the sake of Muhammad, I would not have created the heaven and hell.  When I created the ‘Arsh above the water it became uncomfortable, so I wrote on it “There is none worthy of worship but Allah Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger.”

(Fatawa Hadeethiyah p. 4, Al-Khasaais al-Kubra p. 19, Al-Mustadrak Vol. 2 p. 614 and Zarqaani etc.)

Due to the blessings of the name of Allah’s beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – the ‘Arsh attained peace and confort.  SubhanAllah

Bujh Gayi Jiske Aage Sabhi Mashaley
Shama’a Woh Le Kar Aaya  Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ brought with Him such a dazzling light,
That is outshone all others, which prior to his time were bright.

This verse endorses the Islamic belief that the Deen of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – overtakes all the other religions, and that the Shariah of any other Prophet is not applicable anymore.  Even when Sayyiduna ‘Isa – peace be upon him – will appear towards the end of time, he will not come as a Prophet but rather as a follower of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – as the following statement in the Hadeeth clarifies it:

If Moosa was alive, he would have no choice but follow me.

The beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – warned the Christians and jews as follows:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – reports that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated that if a Christian or jew of my nation hears about me and then dies without believing in what I had been sent as then he belongs to the group who will burn in hell.

If the people of book; such as, Christians and jews, cannot attain salvation without having faith in the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – then the position of the rest of the infidels is quite obvious.

Hadeeth:

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas’ood – may Allah be pleased with him – reports that a man came to the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and said, “O the Messenger of Allah, what do you think of the a Christian or jewish man who holds on to values of Bible and Torah while still believing in Allah and His Messenger but then he does follow you?”

Allah’s Messenger – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – replied, “Whoever amongst the Christians and jews hears about mem and still does not follow me, then he will burn in hell.”

(Sunan Daar Qutni)

Jiske Talwon Ka Dhovan Hai Aabe Hayaat
Hai Wo Jaane Maseeha Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ is the life of Hazrat ‘Isa (peace be upon him)
And the water that washed His feet is nectar.

Jis ne murdah dilon ko di umre abad

Hai who jaane maseeha hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is that fountain head of the water of life
Who has given to dead hearts a gift of eternal life?

There are famous Ahadeeth in Bukhari Shareef that the blessed Sahaba – may Allah be pleased with them – used to rub the Wudu water dripping from the hands and feet of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – over their bodies and sought blessings through them.  They treated his Wudu water like nectar and their life depended on it.  They would not let go of any drop.

They were the Sahaba about whom the beloved Prophet – may Allah be send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

My companions are like stars (of guidance as the position of the stars during the night used to keep travelers on track and not get lost in the past when there was no such thing as GPS), so whomever amongst them you follow, you will be guided.

(Mishkaat p. 554)

Allah Almighty praises them in the Holy Quran:

Mohammad is the Messenger of Allah and those with him are hard against the infidels and tender among themselves you will see them bowing and prostrating themselves in prayer seeking grace of Allah and His pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the traces of prostrations. This description of their is in Taurah and their description is in Enjeel. As a cultivated field which puts forth its sprout, then strengthened it, then it became thick, then stood straight upon its stem, it looks pleasant to the cultivators that through them the hearts of the infidels may burn. Allah has promised unto those of them who are believers and do good, forgiveness and a great reward.

(Al-Fat’h 48, Verse 29)

AHLE BAYT

Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas – may Allah be pleased with them – narrates that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated, “Have love for Allah Almighty because He certainly bestows His bounties upon you. Have love for me due to your love for Allah Almighty and because I am the beloved of Allah Almighty and have love for my Ahle Bayt because of the love (you have) for me.”

(Tirmidi, Mustadrak)

In another Hadith Shareef, three commands have been given to the Muslims which they should educate their children about.

  1. Love for their Prophet,
  2. Love for the Ahle Bayt, and
  3. Teach them to read the Holy Qur’an.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Naaf’e – may Allah be pleased with him – reports from Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn ‘Umar – may Allah be pleased with them – that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated, “He who wishes to possess Tawakkul should possess love for my Ahle Bayt. He who wishes to protect himself against the Fire of Hell, he should have love for the People of my House. He who wishes to attain knowledge and wisdom, he should love and reverence my Household. I swear by Allah Almighty that whosoever loves and reveres them, he will be in peace in both worlds.”

(Ruhul Bayan)

Arsho Kursi ki thi aaina bandiyaan

Soo-e-Haq jab sidhaara hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ went to see God on His highest heaven;
For this occasion the most brightly decorated mirrors were chosen.

The Arsh of Allah Almighty and His Kursi were lit up to welcome Allah’s beloved servant and our Master, the Habeeb of Allah, Muhammadur Rasoolullah – may Allah be pleased with him.  This verse is dedicated to his miraculous journey of Me’raj.  The discussion would be too lengthy to do justice to it here.  Please refer to Quran, Tafseer, Books of Ahadeeth, Seerah, History.  They all bear testimony to this blessed journey.

Khalq Se Auliyah, Auliyah Se Rasool,
Aur Rasoolon Se A’ala  Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is unique and a highest of his kind
The Prophets are from the mystics, who are from human kind

The Awliya are superior to the general creation, and the Messengers are superior to all the Awliya, and the greatest of all Messengers is our beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.

The scholars of every region throughout the world are unanimous on the fact that the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is greatest of all the Prophets and Messengers – peace be upon them.  Apart from this, his most unique attribute is that he is the Final Prophet of Allah Almighty and there can be no Prophet after him.  It is for his sake that Allah Almighty created the universe and its contents.

Husn Khaata Hain Jinke Namak Ki Qasam
Woh Maleehe Dilaara Hamara Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ has such a beautiful complexion
That beauty itself takes oaths by his attraction

Sayyiduna Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – is reported to have said:

Indeed, your Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is handsome, belonging to honorable lineage and possesses beautiful voice.

(Al-Khasaais al-Kubra Vol. 1, p. 76)

Imam Abu Nu’aim writes that Sayyiduna Yusuf was blessed with the beauty more than all the Prophets and the creation collectively but the beauty bestowed upon the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – by Allah was not given to anyone.  The Prophet Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – was given the all of it while Sayyiduna Yusuf received a share from it.

(Al-Khasaais al-Kubra Vol. 2, p. 182)

Zikr Sab Pheeke Jab Tak Na Mazkur Ho
Namakeen Husn Waala Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ’s beauty is to humanity, what salt is to cookery
There can be no taste on your words until you praise his personality

Sayyiduna Jaabir – may Allah be pleased with him – reported that the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

When a nation gathers and then departs without remembering Allah and sending salutations upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) then it is as if they ate stinky dead meat.

(Al-Qaul al-Badee’ p. 150)

Sayyiduna Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri – may Allah be pleased with him – reported that the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

Those who sit in a gathering where Durood is not read upon the Prophet (peace be upon him), even if they make it to Paradise, they will regret it when they will see its reward.

Some Sahaba – may Allah be pleased with them – have stated that a fragrance originates from the gathering in which Durood is read upon the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – which reached the heights of heavens, and when the angels smell the fragrance, they say, “Somewhere in some gathering on the earth, Durood upon the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is being recited.”

(Dalaail al-Khairaat)

Sayyiduna Umar – may Allah be pleased with him – states:

Verily the Du’a is restricted between the earth and the heaven.  None of it advances until you read Durood upon your Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.

(Tirmidhi, Mishkaat p. 87)

Allah Almighty states in Hadeeth al-Qudsi as follows:

Whenever I am remembered, you will be remembered with Me.

(Khasaais Vol. 2, p. 196)

Hazrat Qatadah – may Allah be pleased with him – has stated:

Allah Almighty elevated his remembrance in the world and in the hereafter, so there is no Khateeb or Mu’azzin or Musalli who does not recite

(Khasaais Vol. 2, p. 196)

Jiski Do Boond Hain Kausaer O Salsabeel
Hain Wo Rehmat Ka Dariya Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the ocean of mercy

From which originate the droplets of Kauthar and Salsabeel

Allah’s Beloved’s – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – personality is mercy and compassion. Allah Almighty has described this quality of his in the following verse:

And We sent not you, but a mercy for all worlds.

(Al-Ambiya 21, Verse 107)

Hazrat Abu Umaamah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

Indeed, Allah Almighty has appointed me as a mercy unto the worlds and guidance for the ones who fear.

(Jawaahir Al-Behaar Vol. 1, p. 285)

The objective of ‘Aalameen at this occasion is the entire creation of Allah and everything that is in Allah’s possession, and the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is a mercy unto them. Thus, to say that he is a mercy only for the humans and Jinns is not correct at all.

Allamah Aloosi writes:

The preferred view in my opinion is that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is sent as a mercy to each and every member of the universe whether they are angels, Jinns and humans. There is no distinction between being Mu’min or Kaafir in the humans and Jinns in this concern, although the nature of his mercy will differ from person to person.

(Roohul Ma’aani Juz 17, p. 197)

He writes from the spiritual perspective as follows:

The entire creation is the objective of ‘Aalameen, and he – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is a mercy for everyone but the share of each in the mercy is different, save the fact that all are the recipients of his mercy, for his personality acts as a foundation for the existence of everything and everyone. The Soofies have gone to the extent in saying that the existence of the entire universe is from his – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – light.

(Roohul Ma’aani Juz 17, p. 100)

Hazrat Mulla ‘Ali Qaari – may Allah be pleased with him – writes whilst discussing the concept of him being a mercy for everything, as follows:

“Allah alone is aware of the truth of the matter. In my opinion, the blessed existence of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is a mercy for every creation of Allah Almighty, for the fact that ‘Aalameen encompasses everything besides the personality of Allah Almighty, and here, there is nothing contradicting it.”

Jaise Sab Ka Khuda Aik Hai Waise Hi,
Inka Unka Tumhara  Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ  is yours, theirs and that of one and all
Just as ALLAH of all and sundry is one

Just like Allah Almighty is the only Lord for the humans, jinns, angels, Prophets and every other creation of Allah; whether in the animal kingdom or otherwise, our beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is the Prophet for the entire creation of Allah regardless of what species they belong to.  He is the Prophet of all the Prophets as well.

Indeed, He – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is the Prophet appointed to the entire creation, even to the lifeless objects.

(Fatawa Hadeethiyyah p. 133, Al-Yawaaqeet Wal Jawaahir of Imam Sha’rani Vol. 2, p. 39, Jawaahir al-Behaar Vol. 2, p. 48, Al-Khasaais al-Kubra of Suytooti Vol. 1, p. 4)

Imam Fakhruddin Raazi writes in the commentary of the verse:

These are messengers! That in them We caused one to excell upon the other.

(Al-Baqarah 2, Verse 253)

Indeed, He – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is the Prophet appointed to the entire creation.

(Tafseer al-Kabeer under the abovementioned verse)

The same has been mentioned in Shifa shareef of Qadhi Iyadh al-Maaliki Vol. 1, p. 14)

The beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated, “Indeed both (Sayyiduna) Ibrahim and (Sayyiduna) ‘Isa (peace be upon them) are from my Ummah.”

(Jawaahir al-Behaar Vol. 1, p. 47, Al-Shifa Vol. 1, p. 62)

Karno Badli Rasoolo Ki Hoti Rahi
Chaand Badli Ka Nikla Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ finally emerged from the clouds as the moon
Before him different Prophets came to mankind as ALLAH’s boon

There have been many Prophets of Allah Almighty that came and departed.  Their number is approximately 124,000 but when the Final and Absolute Prophet of the entire creation of Allah was appointed, there is no other Prophet to come after him, and his Shariah and kingdom will be established until the end of the world.

When the Sahaba – may Allah be pleased with them – asked the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:

When was the Prophethood given to you?

He replied:

When (Sayyiduna) Adam (peace be upon him) was between soul and body (i.e. he had not been created yet).

(Mishkaat)

Sayyiduna Irbaadh ibn Saariyah – may Allah be pleased with him – reports that the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

I was already appointed by Allah as the Final Prophet while (Sayyiduna) Adam (peace be upon him) was still in the process of being created.

(Mishkaat, chapter – Excellence of the Master of all Prophets)

Wonderful story:

Sayyiduna Jubair ibn Mut’im – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that:

I travelled to Al-Shaam after Allah Almighty appointed the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and he announced it in Makkah Mukarramah.  When I reached Basrah, a group of Christians approached me and asked, “Are you a resident of Makkah?”  “Yes” I replied.  They asked me if I knew the person who announced his Prophethood in Makkah Mukarramah.  I replied, “Yes, I know him.”

They then took me by my hand to a church where there were a lot of pictures and asked me if I can recognize the picture of the Prophet (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him) among them.  After carefully looking, I said, “His picture is not among them.”

They took me to an even bigger church which had a lot more pictures and replicas than the previous one and asked me to point to the picture of the Prophet (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him).  I recognized the picture of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and there is (Sayyiduna) Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) behind him in the picture.  I said to them, “I have recognized the picture of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.  They asked me if I recognized its features.  I replied, “Yes.”

They then pointed towards the picture of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and asked, “Is this the one?”  I replied, “Yes, I testify it is He.”  They then asked, “Do you recognize the person behind him?”  I replied, “Yes.”

They said, “We testify that He is your companion and will be the successor after him.”

(Dalaail al-Nubuwwah of Imam Baihaqi p.  18)

Not only did they believe in the Prophethood of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – but also in the Khilafah of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him.  This is the truthfulness of Islam!

Kaun Deeta Hain Dene Ko Muh Chahiye
Deene Waala Hai Sachha  Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ is the true distributor of god’s favors;
He alone can give, because he has these powers

Imam Muslim and Nasa’i have recorded this incident in the words of Hazrat Rabee’ah ibn Ka’b al-Aslami – may Allah be pleased with him – as follows:

I used to serve the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – by bringing water of Wudu and other utilities; such as, Miswak and Salah-mat etc.  Once he said to me, “Ask me” and I replied, “I seek your company in Paradise.”  He said, “Is there anything else you desire?”  “That is all I wish for” I replied.  He said, “Then assist me by your excessive prostrations.”

(Muslim, Nasa’i – Ch. The excellence of Prostration)

The woman asked Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – for Jannah but look at this villager, what on earth he asks me for?!

It has been narrated by Maula Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – in Tabrani and Makaarim al-Akhlaaq that whenever someone asked the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – for anything, and if he agreed with the demand he would say “نَقَمْ” i.e. Okay in response and if he did not agree with the demand he would keep quiet (as per his wisdom) but never said “No”.

One day, a villager came and asked him for something, and he kept quiet but he was persistent and repeated his request, and then he spoke up and said, “Ask whatever you wish for, O villager.”

Hazrat Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – says, “We felt jealous and thought, there he goes… asking for paradise but then no, he rather asked for a camel which he gave him and said, “What is the difference between this villager and the woman of Bani Israel?!” And then narrated to us the incident in the time of Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – when he crossed the ocean and upon reaching the shore with his nation, Allah Almighty commanded the travelers to turn their face away.  When he turned back then Moosa – peace be upon him – asked Allah Almighty as to what was the wisdom of this?  He stated, “You are by the grave of My Yusuf (peace be upon him), take his body with you.”  Nobody knew where exactly his grave was except an elderly woman who acknowledged to be aware of its location but agreed to guide him only on one condition and said, “By Allah, not until you give me what I asked from you.”  Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – gave her the choice to ask for her wish and she said, “I seek the same level in paradise which has been bestowed upon you.”

Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – warned her by saying, “O lady!  You should be content with paradise and not ask for such big things but she did not step back and persuaded him for as long as he kept on reasoning with her to retract her demands and in the midst of this, Allah Almighty stated, “Give her what she has been asking for, for it will not increase anything on your part, so give it to her.”

She guided him to the grave of Hazrat Yusuuf – peace be upon him – and Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him took his body with him.

(Al-Amnu Wal-‘Ula p. 157)

It clearly shows that the woman was asking Hazrat Moosa – peace be upon him – for his company in paradise but this villager asked just for a camel?!

We have read above that Hazrat Rabee’ah – may Allah be pleased with him – asked for nothing other than his company in paradise, for he was aware of his station, but the villager was not yet aware of these realities.

Kya Khabar Kitne Taare Khile Chup Gaye
Par Na Doobe Na Dooba Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ as sun has never set, nor will it ever set
In numerable stars in the past have shone and set

Many Prophets (peace be upon him) have come to guide as the stars of guidance and ruled over the hearts of the mankind and then their kingdom as well as their rule ended upon their physical disappearance but the it is the star of the kingdom of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – whose kingdom still continue and will dominate until the end of the world and will prevail although he is not physically with us anymore.

Total number of the Prophets:

Two different Ahadeeth have been quoted in Nibraas, the commentary of Sharh al-Qaqaaid al-Nasafiyyah as well as in other authentic references about the total number of the Prophets that have come.  One mentions the number to be 124,000 while the other mentions 240,000 Prophets in total.  The Imaan is not on the different numbers but the Imaan is to have faith and believe that we believe in all the Prophets whom Allah Almighty has blessed with Prophethood.

Allah Almighty states in the Holy Quran as follows:

And undoubtedly, We sent many Messengers before you, of them, there are some whose story We have narrated to you, and there are some whose story We have not narrated to you, and it is not for any Messenger that he should bring any sign without Allah’s permission, but when the command of Allah will come, the matter shall be decided with truth, and then the men of falsehood shall lose there.

(Al-Mu’min 40, Verse 78)

Our beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – not only knows their number but also their biographies and history, as Allah Almighty has declared in the Holy Quran as follows:

And all that We relate to you of the tidings of the messengers is for strengthening your heart therewith? and in this Sura the truth has come to you and admonition to the Muslims.

(Hood 11, Verse 120)

Allamah Alusi has written in his Tafseer with reference to Imam Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalaani rahimahumAllah in his as follows:

Allamah Ibn Hajar has also mentioned that indeed, the Prophethood of every Prophet besides our Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – ends with their demise.

(Tafseer Rooh al-Ma’aani Vol. 20)

Mulke Qaunain Mein Ambiya Taajdaar
Taajdaro Ka Aaqa Hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the leader of all the Prophets of God
While in there own places the prophet enjoy authority from God

Ambiya se karun arz kyun maaliko

Kya Nabi hai tumhara hamara Nabi

I would like to ask the Prophets (peace be upon them)

Isn’t it that my Prophet is your Prophet as well?

The crown of Prophethood is on the head of all the Prophets but the king of all Prophets is our beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him.

Allah Almighty has made him the leader of all the Prophets of the world, and every Prophet – peace be upon them – has taken a share from his Prophethood and Messengership. Allah Almighty had taken oath from all the Prophets and Messengers to believe in him and to provide aid to his mission. The Quran has named this oath as “Meethaaq al-Ambiya” (The oath of the Prophets). Allah Almgihty had gathered all the Prophets for this purpose in which Allah Almighty Himself had mentioned the qualities and perfections of his and then commanded them, “All of you must believe in my beloved and become his helpers.” The Holy Quran describes this oath in the following manner:

And remember when Allah took, from the prophets their covenant whatever I should give you of the Book and wisdom, then comes to you the Messenger confirming your Books, then assuredly you must believe in him and assuredly you must help him. He said, ‘do you agree, and do you accept My heavy responsibility on it. All submitted ‘We did affirm; He said, ‘then be witness against one another and I am myself among witnesses with you.

(Aale ‘Imraan 3, Verse 81)

Prophets Attained Prophethood by Having Imaan in Him:

Imam Qastalaani – may Allah be pleased with him – recorded the Tafseer of this verse from Hafiz Ibn Katheer, that when Allah Almighty created the light of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and after honoring it with Prophethood and perfections when he created the lights of other Prophets – peace be upon them – then He commanded the light of Hazrat Mustafa – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – to appear before them and pay attention towards them. When his light appeared before them it outshined their lights due its intense brightness and they spoke up, “O our Lord! Who is this outshining our lights and has surpassed us?” Allah Almighty replied:

“It is the light of Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him). If you believe in him I will make you all Prophets.”

They said, “We believe in him and in his Prophethood.”

Allah Almighty then said, “I will be your witness.”

They said, “Yes, please.”

So here are the words of Allah Almighty:

And remember when Allah took, from the prophets their covenant

(Aale ‘Imraan 3, Verse 81)

(Mawaahib with Zarqaani Vol. 1, p. 40)

Imam Taqiy Al-Deen Subki – may Allah be pleased with him – wrote a complete book in the Tafseer of this verse. Allamah Muhammad Ashraf Siyaalwi has included its passages in his book “Tanweer Al-Absaar Fi Noor Al-Nabi Al-Mukhtaar” that are worth studying.

Hadeeth:

The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has mentioned his greatness at various occasions. Two of them will be mentioned hereunder:

  1. It has been narrated from Hazrat Jaabir Ibn ‘Abdullah – may Allah be pleased with him – in Sunnan Al-Daarimi that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“I am the leader of all the Messengers and not proud of it And I am the seal of Prophethood yet I am not proud of it.”

  1. It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaiyy Ibn Ka’b – may Allah be pleased with him – that the Holy Prophet – may Allah be pleased with him – stated:

I will be the leader of Prophets, their spokesperson and their intercessor on the Day of Resurrection without pride.

(Hijjatullah p. 33)

La Makaa Tak Ujalaj Hai Jisko Wo Hain
Har Makaa Ka Ujala Hamara Nabi
Our Prophet ﷺ’s light extends even beyond the realm of space
He is the essence of the light of every form of space

Our beloved Prophet is Haazir and Naazir and the Noor of all places.  His light even approached the La Makaan where there is no concept of time and space in the proximity of Allah Almighty in the night of Me’raj.

He is the light of our houses:

Mulla Ali Qaari – may Allah be pleased with him – writes in the commentary of Al-Shifa shareef that the reason we recite greetings upon entering an empty house:

It is because:

Because the soul of the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is present in the houses of Muslims.

Our Prophet ﷺ is even nobler then the best
Whom you regard as the best among the noblest

Saare Uncho Mein Uncha Samajhiye Jise

Our Prophet ﷺ is even higher than the best
whom you regard the best among the highest

The following Ahadeeth prove that the Holy Messenger – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is the best, the most honourable and most significant amongst all the humans:

Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“I am appointed as the best of every era amongst the children of Adam, and even of this generation in which I am.”

(Sahih Bukhari Hadeeth No. 3557, Musnad Ahmad, Vol. 2, p. 373, Mishkaat, Hadeeth No. 5539)

Hazrat Waathilah Ibn Al-Asqa’ – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

“Allah Almighty has honoured Hazrat Isma’eel – peace be upon him – amongst the children of Hazrat Ibraheem – peace be upon him – and Banu Kinaanah amongst the children of Hazrat Isma’eel – peace be upon him – and then Quraish amongst the people of Banu Kinaanah, and Banu Haashim amongst the Quraish, and then He honoured me amongst the people of Banu Haashim.”

(Sahih Muslim Hadeeth No. 2276, Sunan Al-Tirmidhi Hadeeth No. 3605, Musnad Ahmad Vol. 4, p. 107)

Hazrat Anas – may Allah be pleased with him narrated:

“Love of Quraish is Imaan and hatred with them is Kufr.”

(Tafseer Roohul Bayaan)

Hazrat Abbaas Ibn Abdul Muttalib – may Allah be pleased with them – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

“When Allah Almighty created the creation He kept me among the best creation of all, and when he categorized them into different groups He kept me among the best group of all.  When tribes were divided He kept me among the best of all, and when lives were created He kept me in the best among all lives, and when the houses were created He kept me in the best of them, so my life as well as my house are the best of lives and houses.”

(Sunan Al-Tirmidhi Hadeeth No. 3607, Musnad Ahmad Vol. 1, p. 210, Dalaail Al-Nubuwwah Lil Baihaqi Vol. 1, p. 167, Dalaail Al-Nubuwwah Li Abi Nu’aim Hadeeth No. 16)

(Al-Mu’jam Al-Awsat Hadeeth No. 4725, Dalaail Al-Nubuwwah Li Abi Nu’aim Hadeeth No. 14, Dalaail Al-Nubuwwah Lil Baihaqi Vol. 7, p. 190, Majma’ Al-Zawaaid Vol. 8, p. 217, Jaame’ Al-Bayaan Vol. 11, p. 101, Tafseer Imam Ibn Abi Haatim Hadeeth No. 10158)

Hazrat Ibn Abbaas – may Allah be pleased with them – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

“My parents never met on adultery.  Allah Almighty has always been transferring me from pure loins to pure wombs and they were all clean and well-mannered, and when there were two branches, I was the best of both.”

(Dalaail Al-Nubuwwah Li Abi Nu’aim Hadeeth No. 15, Tahdheeb Tareekh Dimashq Vol. 1, p. 349, Al-Khasaais Al-Kubra Vol. 1, p. 64)

Hazrat Anas Ibn Malik – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – blessed us with his visit and relaxed at Noon.  He was sweating.  My mother brought a bottle and wiped the sweat off his body and collected them in the bottle.  When he got up, he asked, “What are you doing, Umme Sulaim?”  “We collect this sweat of yours for fragrance and this is the best perfume for us.”

(Sahih Muslim Hadeeth No. 2331, Al-Khasaais Al-Kubra Vol. 1, p. 114)

Hazrat Anas Ibn Malik – may Allah be pleased with him – mentioned that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – was of fair complexion and his fragrance was so great that it could not be compared even with musk and ambergris.”

(Al-Tabaqaat Al-Kubra Vol. 1, p. 317, Musnad Ahmad Vol. 3, p. 259, Al-Bidaayah Wal-Nihaayah Vol. 6, p. 16)

Hazrat Jabir – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – used to pass through a street one could smell his fragrance there after he had passed and figure out that he had passed through that street.”

(Sunan Al-Daarimi Hadeeth No. 66, Al-Khasaais Al-Kubra Vol. 1, p. 114)

Hazrat ‘Ayesha – may Allah be pleased with her – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:

“Hazrat Jibreel – peace be upon him – said, ‘I have gone through every portion of earth from east to west and examined closely but I have not seen anyone more excellent than Hazrat Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – neither have I come across a better house than that of Banu Haashim.”

(Al-Mu’jam Al-Awsat Hadeeth No. 6281, Majma’ Al-Zawaaid Vol. 8, p. 217)

Jis ne tukre kiye hain qamar ke who hai

Noore Wahdat ka tukra hamara Nabi

Our Prophet ﷺ is the powerful beacon of God’s light
Who divided the moon into two halves on a night

It is mentioned that when the disbelievers in Mecca Shareef asked the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – for a miracle, he then split the moon. One part was seen on the mount of Abu Qubais and the other on the mount of Qa’eeqan. The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – also made the people a witness to this miracle. (Jalaalain)

When they saw this, some of them remarked that the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – had merely performed magic and had mesmerised them. When the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – heard this statement of theirs, he informed them to ask those travellers who were returning whether they had also seen this miracle while they were travelling.

When these travellers were questioned, they made it clear that they had seen the moon split in two. When they heard this, the disbelievers were speechless, but still remained adamant on their disbelief and continued to say that this was nothing but magic.

This miracle of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – is mentioned in many authentic books of AHadith and has reached such a state of authenticity that it is impossible to refute it. If one continues to refute it, they are only doing this based on Kufr and enmity for the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.” (Khazaa’inul Irfaan, 428)

This miracle is also mentioned in Surah Qamar.

The splitting of the moon is a miracle of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – which has no answer and has been proven from the Qur’an and many Ahadith. In reference to this, A’la Hadrat Imam Ahmed Raza – may Allah be pleased with him – states:

The sun returned crawling back while the moon split with a mere indication

O blind Najdis! look at the power of Rasoolullah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him

It is narrated by Sayyiduna Anas, ibn Mas’ood, ibn Abbaas and ibn Umar – may Allah be pleased with them – that the people of Makkah Mukarramah demanded from him to split the moon in into two if he was truly a Prophet.  Because they doubted him to be a magician and believed that magic cannot affect the sky, hence they demanded him to perform this miracle:

So he showed them the two halves of the sun separated and they saw the mount of Hira through the two pieces.

(Al-Bukhari, Chapter of splitting the moon)

Not only the Quraish but even the people from other parts of the world witnessed this miracle but Alas! The ill-fated people made excuses to turn it against him as the narration of Al-Jami al-Usool suggests:

Whenever the travelers visited Makkah Mukarramah they would tell the Quraish that they witnesss the miracle and up[on that they used to accuse them of lying.

(Al-Jami al-Usool, Vol. 11, p. 396)

Our Prophet ﷺ shone even through the dark mirrors

In the time and the society the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – was born compared to the nations of the other Prophets, he had to face a lot of challenges.  Some of the traits of the Arabs were but not limited to:

  • Idol- worshipping. They were engrossed in idol-worshipping
  • Worshipping trees
  • Worshipping stars
  • Slavery and ill-treating the slaves
  • Gambling and betting
  • Drinking
  • Ill-treating the women and burying their newnorn daughters alive
  • And the list goes on… Refer to the books of Seerah for more details

Hazrat Ja’far Ibn Abi Taalib – may Allah be pleased with him – said in the court of king Najjaashi, “O king, We were ignorant people, used to worship idols and eat the dead, do shameless things, cut off blood ties, ill-treat the neighbors, our powerful used to eat up the belongings of the weak.  We were in this state when Allah sent to us a Messenger whose family, truthfulness, trustworthiness and dignity we already knew.  He invited us to believe in one Allah and worship him alone and to abandon the idols and stones which our forefathers worshipped, and he commanded us to speak the truth, become trustworthy and pious, treat the relatives and neighbors with goodness and stooped us from doing forbidden things and bloodshed, shameless things, speaking lies, eating up the orphans’ belongings and from commit blasphemy against an innocent woman.  He commanded us to worship Allah alone and not make anyone partners with him.  He also commanded us to pray Salah, keep fasts, pay alms, and then we put our faith in him.”

(Musnad Ahmad Vol. 1, p. 202, Shaikh Ahmad Shaakir said the chain of the Hadeeth is Sahih, Musnad Ahmad Vol. 2, Hadeeth No. 1740, Al-Raud Al-Anf VOl. 2, p.111, Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer Vol. 25, p. 29, Majma’ Al-Zawaaid Vol. 6, p. 24)

O RAZA! give this good news to those who are grief ridden

Allah Almighty has granted His beloved Messenger – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – the station of being the captain of intercession.  The description of this station of intercession is mentioned in the Holy Quran in the following words:

It is near that your Lord may make you stand at a place where all should praise you.

(Bani Israel 17, Verse 79)

There are many citations regarding “Maqaam Mahmood” but the most relevant one is that the objective of this station is “the station of great intercession”.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – was asked concerning the verse:

It is near that your Lord may make you stand at a place where all should praise you.

(Bani Israel 17, Verse 79)

He replied:

“It’s the intercesson.”

Hazrat Ibn Umar – may Allah be pleased with him – mentioned that people will go in groups to every Prophet for intercession but their matter will not be solved until the request of intercession will be sought in the court of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:

That will be the day when Allah Almighty will appoint him on the Maqaam Mahmood.

(Bukhari – Kitaab Al-Tafseer)

On the Right Side of the ‘Arsh of Allah:

Where is Maqaam Mahmood?

Its location is also mentioned in the Hadeeth.  Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“I will come out of my grave and the clothes of paradise will be put on me:

And then I will stand on the right side of the ‘Arsh of Allah, and this station will not be available to anyone else in the creation except me.”

Hazrat Mujaahid – may Allah be pleased with him – has interpreted the Maqaam Mahmood as follows:

That Allah Almighty will make Hazrat Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – with Him on His throne.

(Al-Tadhkirah Li Al-Qurtubi p. 285)

Sunte Hain Ki Mahshar Me Sirf Un Ki Rasaa’i Hai  (We Have Firm Conviction that Only He Has A Say In The Mahshar):

It is the station where the entire humanity will gather and will request for intercession.  He will then say, “Yes, Allah Almighty has granted me the great station.”  The immense details of this scenario are mentioned in the Ahadeeth.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Messenger of Allah – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“I will be the leader of all the children of Adam on the Day Judgment.”

And then he mentioned its details in the following manner:

“Allah Almighty will gather all the preceding and later generations in Mahshar (The place of Judgment).  When they will not be able to endure the heat there, they will consult among themselves that they must look for someone that can intercede for us by Allah Almighty.  They will firstly come to Hazrat Adam – peace be upon him – and request, ‘You are the father of mankind.  Allah Almighty has created you with His own Blessed Hand and commanded the angel to prostrate for you, and then you stayed in paradise.  Please have mercy on our state and intercede for us in Allah’s Court.’  He will reply:

My Lord is so angry to today that He was never this angry before neither will He ever be.

He stopped me from going to the tree.  I erred.  I am concerned about myself.  Go to someone else.’

This is how the entire creation of Allah will go to all the Prophets – peace be upon him – but they will mentioned their own slips and say, ‘we are concerned about ourselves.  Go, look for some other support.  The Almighty is so angry today that none has the courage to move his lips there.’  When they will come to Hazrat ‘Isa – peace be upon him – he will say, ‘I also cannot intercede but I can recommended the one whom Allah Almighty had already blessed with the glad tiding of intercession in the world:

Go to Muhammad (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him) a servant that Allah has forgiven the sins of his formers and of his lathers on account of his.’

Entire creation will gather at the footsteps of Hazrat Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – and request, ‘You are the Allah’s beloved, the seal of Prophethood, and Allah Almighty has blessed you with the glad tiding of intercession.  Please, having mercy on our state, intercede for us in Allah’s Court .’

He will say:

I am here to intercede.

I am your friend.

And then he stated, “I will fall in prostration in Allah’s Court under the ‘Arsh.  Allah Almighty will inspire me with such words of Praise and Glory that no one has ever achieved except me, and while I be engaged in his Praise and Glory, He will say to me:

O Muhammad (may Allah send peace and blessings upon him) lift up your head and ask, you will be granted, and intercede, your intercession shall be accepted.

I will say, ‘O Allah, please commence the accountability of the creation, and at that time the commencement of the entire mankind’s accountability will be processed, and that intercession will called “Shafa’at Kubra” i.e. the greatest form of intercession, which will encompass all and sundry whether it’s an infidel, Muslim, friend or enemy.”

He also indicated towards the same concept in his following words:

“The portal of intercession will be opened because of me.”

Which Alahazrat has described as “Naubahaare Shafaa’at”.

Who Are The Beneficiaries Of The Intercession?:

The belief of some in regards to the intercession is that it will be limited to the pious only, which is not a correct view.  Numerous narrations reject those views:

  1. Hazrat Abu Moosa Ash’ari – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – said to me:

“Allah Almighty has given me choice between two things and said, ‘Take one of the two; either the intercession or the forgiveness of half the nation.’

Then I chose the intercession, for it has broad spectrum and it’s more sufficing.  (Then he said)  Do you think that the intercession is for the Allah-fearing people?  Absolutely not.  But it will rather accommodate the erroneous people heavily involved in sinning.’”

(Al-Tadhkirah Lil Qurtubi 404)

  1. Imam Tirmidhi narrated form Hazrat Anas – may Allah be pleased with them – and Ibn Majah and Abu Dawood narrated from Hazrat Jabir – may Allah be pleased with them that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated while describing the broad spectrum of the intercession:

“My intercession is for the major sinners of my nation.”

  1. Imam Abul Hasan Daar Qutni narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah – may Allah be pleased with them – that when he – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“My intercession is for the major sinners of my nation.”

The Companions asked:

“O the Messenger of Allah, how will the pious make it?”

He replied:

“As for the pious, they will enter paradise through their deeds and the sinners will enter the paradise through my intercession.”

(Al-Tadhkirah p. 403)

Ki Hai “Rabbi Sallim” Sada-e-Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – in Sahih Muslim that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – while mentioning the Pulsiraat:

“O Ummah!  At the time when you will be walk on the Pulsiraat your Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – will be standing on the bridge saying, ‘Rabbi Sallim”  (O my Lord, make them pass in peace).”

(Al-Tadhkirah Lil Qurtubi p. 383)

Alahazrat becomes overwhelmed by the Hadeeth and says:

Raza Pul Se Ab Wajd Karte Guzariye

Ki Hai Rabbi Salli Sada-e-Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him

O Raza!  Now cross the bridge in the state of ecstasy

For, “Rabbi Sallim” is the call of Hazrat Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him

Khuda Chaahta Hai Raza-e-Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him:

All the great station that will be bestowed upon the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – are already promised by Allah Almighty in the Holy Quran which He will fulfill there:

And undoubtedly, soon your Lord shall give you so much that you shall be satisfied.

(Al-Duha 93, Verse 5)

The Most Hopeful Verse of The Holy Quran:

Allah Almighty has revealed many verses in the Holy Quran to raise the hopes of His servants having mercy on them.  One among them is:

Say you, ‘O My bondmen who have committed excesses against their own souls ‘despair not of the mercy of Allah’ Undoubtedly, Allah forgives all sins, Verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

(Al-Zumar 39, Verse 53)

This verse is revealed for the sinners as a great support and hope for them but even greater than this is the verse:

And undoubtedly, soon your Lord shall give you so much that you shall be satisfied.

(Al-Duha 93, Verse 5)

Once, Hazrat Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – asked the Ulama:

“Do you consider the verse:

Say you, ‘O My bondmen who have committed excesses against their own souls ‘despair not of the mercy of Allah’ Undoubtedly, Allah forgives all sins, Verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

(Al-Zumar 39, Verse 53)

To be the most hopeful verse of the Quran?”  “Yes”, they replied, “We do consider this one to be as such.”  He said, “We, the household of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send him peace and blessings – have this belief:

And undoubtedly, soon your Lord shall give you so much that you shall be satisfied.

(Al-Duha 93, Verse 5)

Is greater in hope than:

Say you, ‘O My bondmen who have committed excesses against their own souls ‘despair not of the mercy of Allah’ Undoubtedly, Allah forgives all sins, Verily He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

(Al-Zumar 39, Verse 53)”

And then Imam Qurtubi mentions the reason as to why this verse is the most hopeful of all the Quranic verses and writes:

“When the verse:

And undoubtedly, soon your Lord shall give you so much that you shall be satisfied.

(Al-Duha 93, Verse 5)

Was revealed, the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“Now, I swear by Allah!  I will never be pleased even if one member of my Ummah is in the fire.”

(Tafseer Qurtubi Vol. 10, p. 96)

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – in Musnad Bazzar that the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – stated:

“I will be interceding and people will be entering the paradise until a call will come from Allah:

Are you well pleased, O Muhammad?

And I shall reply:

O my Lord, now I am well pleased.

(Al-Imaan Bi ‘Awaalim Al-Aakhirah p. 205)

Khuda Ki Raza Chaahte Hain Do ‘Aalam

Khuda Chahta Hai Raza-e-Muhammad – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him
