Hadrat Sayyiduna Aanis – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – was the most kind and gracious of all people. He narrates:

One day, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – commanded me to perform a certain duty and I said that I will not do it. However, my heart had already made the intention that I will carry out this duty.

I then left that place and I passed a few children that were playing in the bazaar. Suddenly, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – held my shawl. I looked towards him and he was smiling. He then asked me, “O Aanis! Where I had commanded you to go, did you go.”

I replied that I was about to go there.

The blessed companion mentions that he served the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – nearly nine years and never once did he ever ask him why did you do this or why did you not do that.

In another report which is mentioned in the Sahih Muslim Shareef, Hadrat Sayyiduna Aanis – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that he served the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – for nearly ten years and not once did he ever mention the word “uf” to him. He never ever scolded the blessed companion.

Whenever anyone in the blessed household scolded him, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – used to say to them, “Leave him alone. If it was meant for him to do this, he would have completed it.”

Hadrat Sayyiduna Aanis – may Allah be pleased with him – stated that in spite of serving the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – for so long, he was never once scolded or reprimanded.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Aanis – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that when the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – arrived in Madina Shareef, at that time, he was eight years old. He narrates, “My mother then presented me in the blessed court of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – and said, ‘“O Prophet of Allah, the people of the Ansaar have all presented their gifts to you except us. We have nothing to offer you except this son of mine. Please accept him so that he can serve you.’ I served him for nearly ten years and never once did he scold me, abuse me or insulted me.” (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, etc)
