It is reported that Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Muslim Kholaani – may Allah be pleased with him – had such a female slave who used to harbour great hatred and dislike for him. She used to also feed him poison every day. However, none of this poison had any effect on him. When a long time had passed, she approached him and asked, “I have continued to feed you poison for a very long time, however, it seems to have had no effect on you.”

 

Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Muslim Kholaani – may Allah be pleased with him – replied, “Why do you do such things?” She replied that because he had become very old. Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Muslim – may Allah be pleased with him – then declared, “The reason that the poison does not have any effect on me is that before I eat or drink anything, I always recite the Bismillah.” Thereafter, he also freed this female slave.
