Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jafer – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates that one day, the Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – allowed him to sit on the back of his camel. Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Jafer – may Allah be pleased with him – also states that he will reveal a secret which he had never mentioned to anyone.

It was the behaviour of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – that whenever he wanted to release himself, he looked for some private area like the shade of a tree, etc. He once entered the orchard of an Ansari person and there was a camel in this orchard. When Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – entered this garden, the camel began to weep in a soft voice. Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – approached the camel and ran his blessed hands over the ears of this camel. It then stopped crying.

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – then asked, “Where is the owner of this camel. Whose camel is this?’

Suddenly an Ansari appeared and mentioned that the camel belonged to him. Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – then said to him, “Do you not fear Allah Almighty pertaining to the rights of this animal and of which the Allah Almighty has made you its owner?”

Sayyiduna Rasoolullah – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – continued, “It had complained to me that you keep it hungry (or give it less food) and take out more work from it.” (Sunan Abi Daud)
