It is mentioned that there was once a Turkish youngster that used to work for the royal court of Alaawud Daulah. The neighbours of this youngster were also a newly-wed couple. There was also a single wall which separated both houses.
One day, a brick from this wall fell off and one could see into the room of the newly-wed couple. This youngster then took the opportunity of looking into the room of this young lady and she was completely unaware of what was happening. When she came to know about this, she immediately revealed the entire incident to her husband.
When the husband heard about this, he was furious and the both of them decided to sort out this youngster once and for all. He then advised his wife to write a secret note to this young man and invite him after ‘Isha to her room.
Obviously, the young man was extremely happy and completely oblivious of what was been planned for him. In the meantime, the husband dug a large hole in front of the door and kept this a secret. When the young man saw this note, he was very happy and decided to visit this lady after ‘Isha. As he entered the husband suddenly appeared from behind the door and pushed the young man into the hole. Both of them then buried him alive.
After a few days, no one noticed the missing man, but very soon, people started to speak in the royal court. When Alaawud Daulah heard about this, he then had a special meeting with his advisers to decide what to do.
He then called the local Mu’azzin and acted like he was angry but without anyone noticing, he handed the Mu’azzin a hundred Dinars. He then informed him that the same evening he should give the Azaan for ‘Isha and the first person to appear for the Salaah, he should inform the Sultan about the identity of this person. The Mu’azzin did as he was told. The first person to enter the Masjid was this same person who had buried the young man alive.
The next morning, the Sultan called him to the court and asked him, “What happened to the Turkish young man.”
When he heard this question, he realised that there was no need to hide what happened and revealed whatever had transpired between this young man his young wife. He also revealed that the only reason he had performed this action was that no accusation could be placed on his wife since she was some who was always in Pardah.
After hearing the entire story, Sultan Alaawud Daulah replied, “Whatever happened is now in the Divine Court of Allah Almighty. No one will know about this and neither would this secret be revealed to anyone.” (Kitaabul Azkiyah, ibn Jouzi)
