Download PDF: [S] Muslims not safe from his Tongue (Islamic story)

This incident took place in front of the great Imam, Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Sadiq – may Allah be pleased with him. He is considered as the sixth Imam and spent many years in the blessed company of his father, Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Mohammed Baqir – may Allah be pleased with him – and his grandfather, Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Zainul Aabideen – may Allah be pleased with him. He also achieved immense blessing from his maternal grandfather, Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Qasim – may Allah be pleased with him. Many eminent ‘Ulama and learned people used to approach him from all over the Muslim world to gain spiritual benefit and knowledge from him.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Sadiq – may Allah be pleased with him – was noted for his immense patience, his Shukr, his great spiritual striving and his immense Ibadah. Due to his immense quality of truthfulness which was world famous, he was known as “As Sadiq”. There are many narrations which are attributed to him. Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Sadiq – may Allah be pleased with him – spent most of his life in Madina Shareef and passed away in the blessed city. He passed away in 148 A.H. and lies buried in Jannatul Baqi.

It is mentioned that once someone arrived in Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Sadiq’s – may Allah be pleased with him – blessed gathering and began to insult a Muslim who was sitting in the gathering of the great Imam. When the great Imam heard the insults of this man, he asked, “Tell me, have you fought against and killed Romans?”

The person replied that no, he had not fought against the Romans. The great Imam then asked whether he had being involved in any Jihad against the Kaafirs. Again the person replied that no, he had never fought against the Kaafirs. The great Imam asked whether he had fought against the Persians and for a third time, the person replied that no he had not fought against the Persians either.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Imam Jafer Sadiq – may Allah be pleased with him – then declared, “Glory be to Allah! How tragic that the Romans, the Persians and the Kaafirs have been safe from your hands, but a Muslim is not safe from your tongue.”

Perhaps the great Imam was indicating to what will happen in future where so-called Muslims would take verses from the Qur’an meant for Kaafirs and place them around the necks of innocent Muslims. This is exactly what transpired with the Wahhabi/Tableeghi/Deobandi movement. Instead of attacking the Kaafirs they began to attack innocent Muslims and started to call them Bid’atis and Mushriks.

Perhaps they were doing this to appease their own brethren, the Kaafirs. We hardly see any books written by them against the non-Muslims, but they have written hundreds of books against the innocent Sunni Muslim. Therefore, the statement of the great Imam certainly applies to these heretics. They would publicly insult and demonize the innocent Sunni but make sure that their masters, being the West, are unharmed. We have seen this with many of these heretical movements such as the Qadianis, the Shia, the Wahhabi, the Deobandi, the Tableeghi, etc. They consider it a great form of “jihad” to insult the pristine teachings of the Ahle Sunnah wa Jamah but refrain from saying anything against the Kufr beliefs of their masters.
