Hadrat Sayyiduna Junaid Al Baghdadi – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates:

Once, I travelled to the Baitullah. On the road, I heard the sound of someone who was in great pain. I then rushed to this person and made Salaam. He replied to my Salaam by also mentioning my name as well.

I asked, “My friend, how do you know my name?’

He replied, “O Junaid! Our souls have met in the Aalim-e-Malakut. Therefore, I will always remember your name and which was revealed to me by that Divine Being Who never dies.”

He then advised me, “O Junaid! When I pass away, please perform my last rites and placing my body on a hill, you should call out, ‘May Allah have mercy on you. Please perform the Janazah of this poor person who is also a stranger.’”

Thereafter, perspiration appeared on the forehead of this person. He began to weep and then said to me, “When you complete the Hajj and return, you must please go to Baghdad Shareef and ask about the house of Zafraani. Also inquire about my mother and son. You should then inform them that a traveller had conveyed his Salaam to them who was not permitted to return home and was not delivered to you.”

Thereafter, this young man passed away.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Junaid Al Baghdadi – may Allah be pleased with him – mentions that when he stood on a small mount and asked people to join him for the Janazah of this young man, he noticed a large group of people mysteriously appearing from the mountain as if from nowhere. All of them joined in the Janazah Salaah and this young man was then buried.

Hadrat Sayyiduna Junaid Al Baghdadi – may Allah be pleased with him – further narrates:

After completing the Hajj, I then arrived in Baghdad Shareef and inquired about the house of Zafraani. When I entered the street where this person used to live, I noticed a few children playing on the street. Suddenly one of the little children approached me and asked, “O pious person! Perhaps you have come to inform us that our father has passed away!”

I was extremely shocked at the sudden revelation of this young child. He then took my hand and led me to the door of his house. An old woman appeared at the front door and said to me, “O Junaid! Where did my son pass away? Perhaps it was in Arafat?”

I said no.

She then asked, “Perhaps in some wild place or below a tree.”

I then replied that indeed this is where I had found him.

She then replied, “How sad that this man was not allowed to return to us or was not delivered to us.”

She then mentioned a few words and suddenly fell to the ground and also passed away. (Ar Rouad Al faa’iq).
