It is mentioned that there was a pious person among the Bani Israel who lived secluded from the rest of his nation. He lived alone in a mountain. Near him was a stream and through this, he was able to make Wudu and manage to survive in this barren place. He also planted a few trees and through this, he was able to acquire some food. During the day, he kept fast and during the night, he spent the entire night in Ibadah. His every moment and second was spent in serving the Almighty Allah. In fact, this was also clearly seen in his features.

When Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – heard about this person, he decided to visit him. However, when Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – saw that this person was busy in Dhikr and Ibadah, he decided not to disturb him and returned home.

During the night, he went to visit this person. This person was also making Ibadah at that time as well. Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – then said to him, “It would be better for you if you are easy on yourself.”

The person replied, “O Prophet of Allah Almighty! I am in great fear that if I do not do this, perchance I might die while I am oblivious of the Dhikr of Allah Almighty. And if I die in this fashion, then I would be someone who ignored the remembrance of Allah Almighty.”

Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him –asked him whether he had any request. He replied, “I only request that you make Du’a for me with the Almighty Allah and that He is pleased with me and that He gives me the strength to continue serving Him my entire life and when I arrive in His Divine Court, I also reach Him in this manner.”

Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – than raised his hands to make Du’a for this person. However, while Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – was making Du’a for this person, Almighty Allah informed Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him, “Go to this person who has spent his entire life in serving Me that he can spend as much time as he wishes in the night to worship Me, but he is a person who will enter Hell. In fact, with Me, his name has been recorded among those people who are sinners.”

When Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – heard this words, he returned to this person and informed him about what he had been told by Almighty Allah. When the pious person heard these words, he said to Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him. “Subhaanallah! I am happy with the Divine Decision of Almighty Allah. Everything goes and travels with the Divine Wish of the Almighty Allah and no one can change His Divine Decree and no one can stop His Divine Order.”

He then began to weep and continued in his Ibadah. After a few minutes, he again said to Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him , “O Moosa! I swear by the Divine Greatness and Power of my Creator I am not someone who will turn away from Him just like that after listening to His Divine Order. In fact, I will continue to worship Him even more than this and also increase in my love for the Almighty Allah”.

After that, Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him –continued to converse with Almighty Allah and also mentioned to Almighty Allah that He was fully aware of what His servant had mentioned.

Almighty Allah then declared to Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him, “O Moosa! Give glad tidings to this servant of Mine that he is indeed a person of Jannah. He is surrounded by My Divine Mercy. He has also achieved this great status through his patience, sabr and through his acceptance of My Divine Order. In fact, even when he heard My Divine Decree, which might seem bitter to someone, but, he did not move away from My worship. In fact, even if he brings sin and transgression equal to the heavens and earth, I will still pardon him.”

When this person heard these words, he went into Sajdah and this Sajdah was very long. And it was during this long Sajdah that he passed away.
