It is mentioned that once Shaikh Banaan Himaal – may Allah be pleased with him – was busy travelling towards Mecca Shareef from Egypt. He also made sure that he carried enough food for the road. However, on the road, he met a female who said, “There is no doubt that you are indeed a himaal (a goods carrying camel). Are you afraid that He will not give you sustenance?”

 

When the Shaikh heard these words, he felt highly embarrassed and decided to distribute all of the food among the other travellers who went by.

 

He spent the next three days travelling but could not get any food. His hunger also began to increase. However on the pathway, he found a piece of jewellery and thought to himself that he will keep this with him and when the owner asks, he might get a reward for it.

 

Suddenly he saw the same female appear in front of him and ask, “Are you a business man? You are saying that when the owner appears you will get something for it?”

 

She then threw a few Dirhams in front of him and disappeared. The Shaikh mentions that these few Dirhams proved enough for him to go and come back from the journey.
