It is mentioned that once a person approached a certain Hakeem. He had with him a box and when he opened this box, he removed a certain piece of jewellery. He mentioned that this was pure gold and its value is not lessor than ten thousand Dinaars. He then said to the Hakeem that he should keep it with him for a month and give him five thousand Dinaars in advance and he will return within a month with the five thousand Dinaars. The Hakeem replied that he did not do things like this.
However, the person explained his state in such a sad manner, than even the Hakeem began to feel sorry for him. He then gave the person five thousand Dinaars and kept the piece of jewellery with him. He then took the piece of jewellery and locked it in a cupboard in which he normally keeps other metal items. Months passed and the person did not return. Obviously, the Hakeem began to feel uneasy.
One day, he decided to take this piece of jewellery to the market place and sell it. However, the expert whom he took it to explained that this was ordinary brass. Obviously, he was very concerned when he heard this and realised that he had been swindled. When he returned home, he took this piece of item and kept it in that cupboard where he kept brass items.
In this manner, people are also deceived in the world. This is the reason that in most times, some people whom we think of as gold are actually ordinary brass or copper. The problem which we create is that we take these people and place them a cupboard which is meant for gold when we should have placed them in a cupboard which is meant only for ordinary brass or iron.
