It is reported that it was the habit of Shaikh Samaa’udeen that he used to always manage to bring a sinner to the right path with his sweet speech and words.

 

One day, a person who was in charge of the issuing of various royal orders on behalf of Sultan Bahul Lodhi, namely Shihaab Khan’s son, Mohammed, entered the gathering of this eminent scholar. This young man was also slightly intoxicated after consuming alcohol.

 

At that moment, I (Jamaali), the narrator of the incident, was present in this gathering. I wanted to remove this young man from the gathering of this eminent scholar. However, through his spiritual insight, Shaikh Samaa’udeen understood my intention and turning to me, he mentioned the words of Khawaja Haafiz Saadi which gave the message that we are not people who throw others out, but rather, we are people who invite others to the path of Divine love and respect.

 

It is mentioned that when the young man heard these sincere words and the sincere manner in which these words were uttered, he immediately make Taubah for his evil habits and became the Mureed of the eminent scholar. Thereafter, he continued to live a pious life and became one of the eminent pious people of his era. This is the wisdom that has always been displayed by the eminent Saints and scholars of Islam.
