One day, Khawaja Qamarudeen Siyalwi – may Allah be pleased with him – mentioned the following words of the Hadith Shareef, “A time will come when people will speak about wordily things in the Masjid. You should not sit with them. They have no urge for the Divine Mercy of Allah Almighty and Allah Almighty has no need for them.”

He then mentioned the story of Hadrat Sayyiduna Bishar Hafi – may Allah be pleased with him – who was once walking in the market place in Baghdad Shareef and saw a piece of paper on which was written the “Bismillah”. Hadrat Sayyiduna Bishar Hafi – may Allah be pleased with him – then picked up this piece of paper with utmost respect and from that day onwards, he never wore shoes while he walked on the streets of Baghdad Shareef. This is the reason that he was given the title of “Hafi,” or the one with no shoes. One of the miracles was that as long as Hadrat Sayyiduna Bishar Hafi – may Allah be pleased with him – walked the streets of Baghdad Shareef, no animals made a mess on the streets. One day, a Majzub saw dung on the streets and he began to weep and realised that the great Saint had passed away. (Anwaar-e-Qamariyah, 209)
