Hadrat Sayyiduna Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – narrates:

 

Once Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – and Nabi Harun – peace be upon him – went into the wilderness. Their real intent was to enter a cave wherein they were going to busy themselves with the Ibadah of Allah Almighty. It so happened that at that moment, Nabi Harun – peace be upon him – passed away in this cave. Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – then buried his blessed brother and returned to the Bani Israeel alone.

 

When they saw him coming alone, they accused him of murdering Nabi Harun – peace be upon him. Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – was extremely unhappy when he heard this accusation and made Du’a in the Divine Court of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty them commanded him to the take the people to the grave of Nabi Harun – peace be upon him. He then stood in front of the blessed grave of Nabi Harun – peace be upon him – and called out to him.

Suddenly Nabi Harun – peace be upon him – appeared from the grave and after a few minutes, Nabi Moosa – peace be upon him – instructed him to return to his grave which he did. When the Bani Israeel saw this, only then did they become satisfied. (Musannaf, Ibn Abu Shaybah)

 

Such was the despicable behaviour of the Bani Israeel that they questioned every action of their Prophets. In other words, they displayed no respect and no reverence.

 

It seems like the Wahabi/Deobandi group also seemed to have learnt their beliefs from the Bani Israeel. When we look at the statements and insults which they have uttered against the beloved Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, we realise that they may have certainly learnt their teachings from their own predecessors.
