It is reported that once a person saw a worm which normally appears where there is unclean things. He said to this worm, “You are an ugly looking creature and neither is your appearance good nor is your smell.”
Thereafter, Almighty Allah sent sickness on this person which was so serious that even the doctors were speechless on how to cure this illness. One day, he heard someone on the street who was saying to people that he could look into the Faal of people and be able to advise them. The sick person then asked his friends to bring this person to him so that perhaps he would be able to diagnose his illness. However, his friends were very skeptical since even the doctors could do nothing about him.
When this person approached the sick person, he informed him that he had a sickness which was created by a worm that sat on unclean things. Suddenly, this person realized his mistake and remembered that he had once insulted a worm which was also among the creation of Almighty Allah. They then brought one of these worms to this person and after burning it into ashes, they placed these ashes on the wound of the person and he regained his health.
In other words, this incident clearly proves that there is nothing in the creation of Allah Almighty which has no purpose. Everything is created with a certain specific purpose. At the same time, the Qur’an also makes it clear that everything on earth has been created for man and for the benefit of man. Therefore, if you see something tomorrow which makes no sense to you, it does not mean that there is no Divine Purpose to this creation. We have previously mentioned the story of a fly which used to worry a king and the scholar sitting next to him mentioned that one of the reasons that this fly was created by Almighty Allah was to teach a lesson to those who thought that they were very high and mighty.
Muslims should study the creation in this world and when they do so with genuine Islamic zeal, they would be able to discover things in this universe and the benefits of these creatures which even the non-Muslims are unaware of. Bear in mind that Muslims look with the Nur of Imaan and the brighter the Nur, the more clearly a person can see. One of the preconditions to be able to see these wonders in creation is to see it with the Nur of Imaan. This was the manner of the great Muslims of the past.
