In the Hadith Shareef it is mentioned that whoever recites the Durood Shareef in a dream, before he or she awakes, they are pardoned. This happened with the blessed mother of Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him. It is mentioned that she had not yet accepted Islam when Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him – brought her to the blessed court of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.

When she appeared in front of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, a long conversation took place but she was not pleased and since she was quite old, she feel off to sleep.

During the night, the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – asked Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him – about his state and he replied, “O Prophet of Allah, I am fine but please make a special Du’a for my mother because I have no one else besides her. Please make Du’a that she is blessed with the gift of Imaan.”

The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – then raised his blessed hands and became to whisper a few words. At that time, there was also another companion who was present. The Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him –narrates that he heard the blessed mother of the eminent companion recite the Kalimah in her dream. And when she awoke, she recited the Kalimah loudly.

There is no doubt that this Hadith Shareef proves beyond a shadow of doubt that the blessed mother of Hadrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr – may Allah be pleased with him – was pardoned before she awoke.

There are many incidents of this nature where people went to sleep in a state of disbelief and in their dream they saw the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – and accepted Islam in their dream and also recited the Kalimah. These blessed people also had the opportunity of reciting the Durood Shareef in their dream.

Poem:

  1. Blessed indeed are those eyes which have seen the Nur of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him – and have seen without restriction the immense beauty of the Holy Prophet – may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him.
  2. Allah Almighty has indeed blessed this person with immense piety for whom he has made Du’a for. They are indeed fortunate in both life and death.
  3. They transformed their life of Shirk with the light Imaan and have achieved greatness in both worlds.
  4. There is no doubt that those people have certainly achieved success who have seen that Prophet whom Allah Almighty has given the highest status and stature.
  5. May the Divine Grace of Allah Almighty continue to descend on the beloved Habeeb as long as people continue to make the Tawaaf of the Ka’ba.
  6. There is no doubt that the Durood is the sweetest fragrance for the universe. If someone measures this fragrance with another, do they have no shame? (Ar Roud Al Faa’iq fi Al Muwaa’iz war Raqaa’iq)
