وَ الْاٰخِرَۃُ خَیۡرٌ وَّ اَبْقٰی ﴿ؕ۱۷﴾

Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: [مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا كَمَا يَضَعُ أَحَدُكُمْ أُصْبُعَهُ فِي الْيَمِّ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ

The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:  The world compared to the hereafter is like if one of you were to dip his finger in the ocean and looks at what he returned with.

Tafsir al-Jalalain                                                                                                                        تفسیر الجلالین                                                

{وَالْآخِرَة} الْمُشْتَمِلَة عَلَى الْجَنَّة {خَيْر وَأَبْقَى}

Whereas the Hereafter, and the Paradise it entails, is better and everlasting.

فيه اشارة الى ان ظواهر الأشياء بالنسبة الى حقائقها كالقشر بالنسبة الى اللب

In it there is an indication that the superficial values of things compared to their realities are like peals over the pulp.
