And if He tests him and restricts his livelihood – thereupon he says, “My Lord has degraded me!”

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him – is reported to have said: I have seen the 70 people of Suffah. Some of them have a single sheet of cloth on their body, some only have lower garment, some only cover their body with a cloth ganging down their necks, some have sufficient garment covering only half their calves while some have it covering upto their ankles and they walk while holding their garments with the fear of accidentally revealing their private parts.
So ponder whether this qualifies as disgrace for the special servants of Allah?!
A believer only in one of the two states:
- The state of gratitude
- The state of patience
Hadeeth: The Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated: Iman has two halves; one half is patience and other half is gratitude.
