Except those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them is a never ending reward.
Tafsir al-Qurtubi
It is narrated in the Hadeeth: When a Muslim servant passes away, Allah Almighty appoints two angels to worship on his grave till the day of Judgment and its virtues will be written in his account, hence the statement of the Almighty:
For them is a never ending reward.

in a Hadeeth it is stated, “When a believer reaches the old age which prevents him from performing good deeds, then what he used to do is recorded in his favour [instead].”

This Hadeeth of the Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – is mentioned in Tafseer Abi al-Laith: When a believer passes away, two angels (Kiraaman-Kaatibeen) go upto the heaven and say, “A certain servant of Yours has passed away, please allow us so we can worship You in the heaven.” Allah Almighty then says, “My heavens are filled with My angels but you should rather go to his grave and keep on writing his good deeds till the Day of Judgment.”
Tafsir Rooh al-Bayaan of Imam Isma’eel Haqqi ibn Mustafa al-Istanbuli Hanafi t D. 1127 A.H.
