إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌۭ

 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord.

Tafsir al-Tabari                                                         تفسیر الطبری                                

عَنِ الْحَسَنِ الْبَصْرِيِّ: {إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ} [العاديات: 6] قَالَ: «هُوَ الْكُفُورُ الَّذِي يَعُدُّ الْمَصَائِبَ، وَيَنْسَى نِعَمَ رَبِّهِ»

Sayyiduna Hasan – may Allah be pleased with him – is reported to have said:  i.e. it is about the ungrateful person who keeps score of the hardships but forgets about his Lord’s blessings.

Tafsir Al-Tabari (Tafsir Ibn Jareer / Jame’ al-Bayaan fi Taweel al-Quraan) of Imam Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn Jareer al-Tabri t D. 310 A.H.

Tafsir al-Kabeer                                                                                                             التفسیر الکبیر                        

وَرَوَى أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ الْكَنُودَ هُوَ الْكَفُورُ الَّذِي يَمْنَعُ رِفْدَهُ، وَيَأْكُلُ وَحْدَهُ، وَيَضْرِبُ عَبْدَهُ

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated from Holy Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – that the ungrateful is he who does not part with any of his portions, eats everything by himself and assaults his slave.

Tafsir al-Jalalain                                                                                                                        تفسیر الجلالین                                                

{إِنَّ الْإِنْسَان} الْكَافِر {لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُود} لَكَفُور يَجْحَد نعمته تعالى

Verily man, the disbeliever, is ungrateful to his Lord, indeed unappreciative by denying the blessings of the Almighty
