فِیۡ عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَۃٍ ٪﴿۹﴾

Tafsir al-Qurtubi                                                                                                                         تفسیر القرطبی

وَفِي حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ثُمَّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِمْ  مَلَائِكَةً بِأَطْبَاقٍ مِنْ نَارٍ، وَمَسَامِيرَ مِنْ نَارٍ وَعَمَدٍ مِنْ نَارٍ، فَتُطْبِقُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِتِلْكَ الْأَطْبَاقِ، وَتَشُدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ بِتِلْكَ الْمَسَامِيرِ وَتَمُدُّ بِتِلْكَ الْعَمَدِ، فَلَا يَبْقَى فِيهَا خَلَلٌ يَدْخُلُ فِيهِ رَوْحٌ، وَلَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ غَمٌّ، وَيَنْسَاهُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَى عَرْشِهِ، وَيَتَشَاغَلُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ بِنَعِيمِهِمْ، وَلَا يَسْتَغِيثُونَ بَعْدَهَا أَبَدًا، وَيَنْقَطِعُ الْكَلَامُ، فَيَكُونُ كَلَامُهُمْ زَفِيرًا وَشَهِيقًا، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّها عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ. فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ.

In a Hadeeth reported by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah – may Allah be pleased with him, the beloved Prophet – may Allah send peace and blessings upon him – has stated:  Allah Almighty will then appoint angels over them with the doors, nails and columns; all made of fire.  They will shut the door over them and secure them with nails and they will be tied to those columns.  Not the tiniest of room for escape will be spared from where they could get relief and their sorrow could pass through.  Allah Almighty will forget (He would not care about them) about them on His ‘Arsh while the residents of paradise will rejoice in its comfort.  The residents of hell will never be able to seek help after this, and all communications will be ended, so their words will be screams and howling.  This is the interpretation of Allah’s statement:

اِنَّہَا عَلَیۡہِمۡ مُّؤْصَدَۃٌ ۙ﴿۸﴾

Indeed it will be shut over them.
