Sayyiduna Ali – may Allah be pleased with him – is reported to have said, “One who recites Surah Al-Ikhlas 11 times after Fajr Salah, no sins will catch up to him even if the satan attempts.”

It is narrated that Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him – descended at Tabuk and said, “O Allah’s Messenger, indeed Mu’awiyah ibn al-Mazni – may Allah be pleased with him – has passed away in Madinah Munawwarah.  Would you like me to shrink the land, so you could perform his Janazah Salah?”  He replied, “Yes, of course.”  Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him – flapped his wing on the ground and the Janazah of Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah was in front, and he performed his Salah.”  There were two rows of angels behind him; each consisting of 70,000 angels.  When he returned, he asked Sayyiduna Jibreel – peace be upon him, “How did he achieve such blessings?”  He replied, “Due to his love for Surah Al-Ikhlas, for he would recite it in every situation; wherever he went, sat or stood.”
